1. Verantwortlicher
Verantwortlich im Sinne der Datenschutz-Grundverordnung (DSGVO): Daniel Busenthür, Laufenstr. 98, 52156 Monschau, Deutschland E-Mail: hello@danth.de
Rechtsgrundlage ist Ihre Einwilligung (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO, § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG).

Which personal data is processed when you visit this website, why, and on what legal basis. This translation is provided for convenience. The German version is legally binding.
In short

The fonts and icons are embedded in the page. Visiting it sends no data to Google or any other third party.
The Spotify player and the Bandsintown live dates only load when you allow them with a click or in the consent banner.
If you sign up for Backstage and confirm by email, your email address and, if given, your mobile number go to the sending service Laylo (USA).
The background animation, the sound and the hidden secrets run entirely in your browser.
1. Controller
Controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): Daniel Busenthür, Laufenstr. 98, 52156 Monschau, Germany Email: hello@danth.de
2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by dogado GmbH, Antonio-Segni-Straße 11, 44263 Dortmund, Germany. Each time you visit, your browser automatically sends data to the server, which stores it in log files: IP address, date and time of the request, requested file, amount of data transferred, status code, referrer URL, browser type and operating system.
This serves to deliver the website, keep it stable and fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is operating the site securely and without errors. Log files are deleted after 7 days unless they are needed longer to investigate a specific security incident. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.
3. Encryption
This website is only delivered over an encrypted TLS connection (https).
4. Contact by email and contact form
If you email me or use the contact form in the imprint, for example with a booking request, I process your email address, your name, the content of your message and any other information you give me in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract such as a booking, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
With the contact form, your name, email address and message are sent to my server at dogado and forwarded to me from there by email; nothing is stored on the website itself. To prevent abuse, your IP address is kept as a pseudonymised hash for at most one hour to limit too many requests in a short time (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
I delete your data once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply, in particular under commercial and tax law (up to ten years).
5. Local storage in your browser
Without your consent, this website sets no cookies (for Google Analytics, Google Ads, the Meta Pixel and the Snap Pixel, see sections 9 and 10). For four features it saves small entries in your browser’s local storage:
which hidden secrets you have already found (“danth-secrets-v6”),
whether you allowed the Spotify player or the Bandsintown dates to load (“danth-embeds”),
which choice you made in the consent banner (“danth-consent”),
whether you paused the background motion (“danth-motion”).
These entries stay on your device and are not sent to me or to anyone else. They only serve to provide the features you use (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete them at any time in your browser settings or under “Your settings”.
6. Spotify player (only after a click)
A Spotify player can be embedded in the “Music” section. The provider is Spotify AB, Regeringsgatan 19, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden. The player only loads when you click “Load player” or allow “External media” in the consent banner. Only then does your browser connect to Spotify’s servers. Spotify receives in particular your IP address, information about your browser and device, and the address of this page. Spotify may use cookies or similar technologies and may link the visit to your account if you are logged in. Where Spotify transfers data outside the EU, it states that it relies on adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). Your choice is saved locally so you don’t have to click again each time. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. More in Spotify’s privacy policy.
7. Bandsintown live dates (only after a click)
Upcoming dates can be shown in the “Tour” section through a Bandsintown widget. The provider is Bandsintown, LLC, 8 W 36th Street, 9th Floor, New York, NY 10018, USA. The widget only loads when you click “Show live dates” or allow “External media” in the consent banner. Your browser then loads a script from Bandsintown’s servers. In doing so, your IP address, information about your browser and device, and the address of this page are transmitted, and Bandsintown may use cookies or similar technologies.
Data may be transferred to the USA, where a level of data protection comparable to the EU is not guaranteed. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). The transfer to the USA is based on Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. More in Bandsintown’s privacy policy.
8. Backstage (newsletter by email and text message)
If you sign up for Backstage, I process your email address and, if you add it, your mobile number to send you news about shows and releases by email and text message. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 7(2) UWG). You must be 16 or older to take part. Details are in the Backstage terms.
Sign-up uses double opt-in: after you submit the form, I send you an email from newsletter@danth.de with a confirmation link. Only when you click it are you signed up and your details sent to Laylo. Until then, I store your email address, your mobile number if given, the language, and the time and IP address of the sign-up on the server of my host dogado (see section 2). Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted automatically after 48 hours. After confirmation, I also store the time and IP address of the confirmation and the consent text, so I can prove that you consented (Art. 7(1) GDPR). I keep this proof for as long as you are subscribed and for up to three years afterwards; the legal basis is my legitimate interest in defending against claims (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Messages are sent through Laylo, a service of Laylo, Inc., 2261 Market St PMB 4748, San Francisco, CA 94114-1612, USA. Your details are sent from my server to Laylo once you confirm, together with the IP address you confirmed from. Laylo only derives your approximate location from it (such as city and country), so I can let you know about shows near you; the legal basis is my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is stored on servers in the USA. Laylo states that it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Laylo’s representative in the EU (Art. 27 GDPR): Instant EU GDPR Representative Ltd., Office 2, 12A Lower Main Street, Lucan, Co. Dublin, K78 X5P8, Ireland. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Laylo for sending on my behalf.
Laylo may add information from its network to fan profiles, for example whether an email address or mobile number has already bought tickets from or signed up with other Laylo users, and show me aggregated insights that Laylo says are anonymised. Where Laylo processes data for its own purposes, Laylo’s privacy policy applies, and you can exercise your rights directly with Laylo there.
On my Laylo page (laylo.com/danth) and my Laylo Drops, I do not add any analytics or advertising tools of my own. Laylo’s privacy notices apply there.
You can unsubscribe at any time: through the link in every email, by replying STOP to a text message, or by emailing hello@danth.de. Your data is then deleted unless statutory obligations require otherwise.
9. Google Analytics (only with consent)
To see how many people visit this website and which sections they use, I use Google Analytics 4. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The script only loads when you allow “Statistics” in the consent banner. Google then sets cookies (e.g. “_ga”) and records in particular the pages viewed, time spent, where the visit came from (e.g. a search engine or link), approximate location, device and browser. Your IP address is transmitted for technical reasons but, according to Google, not stored for users in the EU. The data is deleted after 2 months. I have switched off sharing the data with other Google products. A data processing agreement is in place with Google (Google Analytics data processing terms).
Data may be transferred to the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time under “Cookie settings”. More in Google’s privacy policy.
10. Google Ads, Meta Pixel and Snap Pixel (only with consent)
I run ads on Google Ads and want to measure whether someone arrives through an ad and then signs up for Backstage (conversion tracking). The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The script needed for this only loads when you allow “Marketing” in the consent banner. Google then sets cookies and receives in particular your IP address, information about your browser and device and whether you came through a Google ad. Without your consent nothing is sent to Google.
I also use the Meta Pixel of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. It lets me measure whether my ads on Facebook and Instagram work and show visitors of this website relevant ads there later, for example about new releases or shows. The pixel also only loads when you allow “Marketing” in the consent banner. Meta then sets a cookie (“_fbp”, up to 90 days) and receives in particular your IP address, information about your browser and device, the page visited and whether you signed up for Backstage. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta can link the visit to your account. Without your consent nothing is sent to Meta.
I am jointly responsible with Meta for collecting this data and transmitting it to Meta (Art. 26 GDPR); the details are set out in the Controller Addendum. Meta alone is responsible for any further processing. Data may be transferred to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the USA. Meta is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time under “Cookie settings”. More in Meta’s privacy policy.
I also use the Snap Pixel of Snap Inc., 3000 31st Street, Santa Monica, CA 90405, USA (EU representative: Snap B.V., Keizersgracht 165, 1016 DP Amsterdam, Netherlands). It lets me measure whether my ads on Snapchat work and show visitors of this website relevant ads there later. The Snap Pixel also only loads when you allow “Marketing” in the consent banner. Snap then sets cookies (such as “_scid”, up to 13 months) and receives in particular your IP address, information about your browser and device, the page visited and whether you signed up for Backstage. If you are logged in to Snapchat, Snap can link the visit to your account. Without your consent nothing is sent to Snap. Snap Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time under “Cookie settings”. More in Snap’s privacy policy.
11. Links to platforms and social networks
The links to Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, SoundCloud, Resident Advisor, Bandsintown and WhatsApp are plain links. The links themselves send no data to these providers when you visit this website (for the Meta Pixel and the Snap Pixel, see section 10). Only when you click a link are you taken to the provider’s site, where its privacy policy applies.
12. Your rights
